Introduce Yourself

Hello Zebras and Spoonies!

Thanks for coming over and visiting me today, I’m glad you’re here.

Even though this isn’t my first blog post, I thought that it would be fun to do an introduction post. So, I made up a list of questions that I am going to answer so that you guys can get to know me a little better. I’m including the questions as a list at the bottom of the post so that you can copy and paste them if you’d like to join me in the fun.

What is your zodiac?

I’m Aries or a Metal Rooster, depends on which zodiac you’re talking about.

Do you have any children?

Yup. I have one daughter who is 21 years old and in college. And that makes me feel old.

What is your gender identity and preferred pronouns?

I’ve always identified as female, because those are the biological parts that I have, but I’m probably a male in my head. I dunno, I’ve never thought it was an essential thing to pin down. Use which ever pronouns work for you, I personally don’t have a preference.

What do you do for work?

I’m a nurse. I’m currently working as a Med Surg travel nurse which I just started doing this year. It’s been a big change and I’ve been really glad I finally took the leap. I’ve been a nurse since 2004. Been working in healthcare since 1999. The last year has been tough, but I still wouldn’t want to be doing anything else and plan to do this as long as my body lets me.

What are some of your hobbies?

I love to do any kind of art or crafting thing. I do a lot of sewing and crochet. I also paint and draw. I’m a nerd. I love video games, table top games and RPGs. Love reading.

What is your religion?

I’m Wiccan. I also live by the principles of Zen and Existential philosophies. So, what does that mean? Well, I believe in Mother Gaia and the interconnectedness of all life. I believe in the importance of self-restraint, meditation-practice and insight into the nature of the mind. I take a life approach which emphasizes the existence of the individual person as a free and responsible agent determining their own development through acts of their will.

What is the first thing you notice about people?

This varies a lot. Could be anything. Their clothing, their voice, the way that they are holding their pen, how close they are standing to me… What I notice first about a person is as varied as the people that I meet.

What is something you really like about yourself?

I like that I am always working to make things better for myself and those around me.

Who do you miss the most right now? Why?

There are several whom I have been grieving over the past year. Their deaths have impacted me greatly and there is no way for me to say which person I miss most.

What is the last thing that you ate?

Bacon salted sun flower seeds. Eating them right now while I’m typing this up.

What music are you listening to right now?

Techno

Give a basic description of yourself or share a selfie!

I’m short. Blue-green eyes. Pink, short hair that stands up in disarray.

What is something important that you want people to know about you?

I have invisible chronic illness. This means that I often look like I am well when I am not. It also means that what I can and can’t do varies a lot from day to day.

Are you Neurodivergent or Neurotypical?

Neurodivergent.

Tell us about a quirk you have.
