Dancing in the Rain

Hello Dazzle! Thanks for coming and hanging out with me today, I’m glad that you are here. Today I wanted to talk about the weather. Unlike most people, I am not a huge fan of the bright and sunny days. For me, they are dangerous. I have to be very careful while spending time out in the sun or I end up with severe sun burns and heat stroke. This has created negative associations with that kind of weather.

This is probably why I have come to be a fan of the rain. I love when it is raining so hard that your clothing becomes soaked through in just a few moments while standing in it. I love the lightning and the thunder. The sound of the rain against the roof or the window is soothing. For me, there is nothing as delightful as going to the beach on a rainy day. The warm rains are the best, but even the cold rains are nice.

Most people consider this a rather strange quirk and that’s alright. Most people that like the rain limit their enjoyment to sitting at the window and reading a good book while they listen to it pouring outside. But I am the person that wants to literally dance in the rain. It never made sense to me that you’d enjoy the rain just by watching it. I want to splash in all the puddles and feel the mud squish beneath my feet.

I have enjoyed the rain in this way for as long as I can recall. Even as a child, I was looking to go outside and play while it was raining. There was never anything better than diving into those mud puddles. Bless my parents for letting me play in the mud. It was a pleasure that I am glad I was afforded as a child. And one that I don’t generally indulge in as an adult because there have been too many years of being told that dancing in the rain isn’t good for me.
